LONACONING — Egle Nursing and Rehab Center is in its 42nd year of providing long-term care services to the citizens of the greater tri-state community. Located in the town of Lonaconing, Egle is a 66-bed skilled nursing facility that has consistently ranked among the very best in the state of Maryland.

Certified in both Medicare and Medicaid, Egle offers a full complement of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services and a wide array of additional long-term care amenities. With its 100 employees, the facility is among the largest employers in the George’s Creek Valley. Locally owned and operated, Egle is proud that it has been able to continue a tradition of providing the finest health care possible while still being able to offer a small hometown personal touch.

Beginning in the late summer of 2019, Egle anticipates completion of a 16-bed memory care unit that seeks to serve the members of our community battling the challenging changes associated with memory care diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease. The memory care section of the Egle campus will be housed in a new 11,000-square-foot building currently under construction. The memory care facility will be known as The Egle House, Memory Care Assisted Living and will boast 16 private suites offering private baths and toilet facilities and an array of other services.

Egle President Jeff Metz states, “We are pleased to bring this much-needed service to our family and friends in the tri-state community. It has been a goal of our company for some time and we are excited for its opening.” The Egle House will be managed by licensed Assisted Living Manager Gayle Durst, who has completed extensive training in memory care services. Durst has been a member of the Egle family for over 15 years. For more information, contact her at 301-463-5451 or use the Contact Us link.
